What are people saying about Kachina Country Day School- North?
My daughter has had a wonderful and diverse learning experience at Kachina. This is our second year and we are thrilled with their academics as well as their encouragement of each individual student to succeed. - Submitted by a parent on August 22, 2007
Kachina Country Day School North is the Phoenix that emerged from the ashes of Stars Prep. The transition was made as smoothly as possible, given the circumstances. Mr.Steve is a wonderful principal. He is involved and actually seems to care about the students at his school- I haven't seen him stumble over a child's name yet:) The teachers take a genuine interest in their students and work with challenging students, where other schools would put them in the back of the classroom and allow them to fail. The school work requires effort, but is not out of reach. The children are taught actual lessons, rather than being taught how to pass the AIMS test. The students are told that they earn their grade, and that has always been true. It's very refreshing in a time when children are not held accountable for their actions.- Submitted by a parent on August 16, 2007
I am so grateful to Kachina Country Day School! My son loves this school and is having a great experience! Small class sizes, special classes, and great enrichment programs are all available. We have been treated with respect and kindness from the principal at all times. We would recommend KCDS North to anyone who is looking for a great foundation for their child.- Submitted by a parent on May 6, 2007
This is our second year at Kachina, the teachers are dedicated caring and progressive individuals. It shows as each cares not only for their own classroom students but interacts with the students as a whole. It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child. In today's world where families are spread far and wide Kachina Country Day North is the village type setting where your child will not only be educated yet cared for in a healthy environment to complement your parenting responsibilities and to have each child reach for the best they can be. In addition the programs within the school day and during aftercare are diverse and encourage children to experience a rich variety of activities to further develop their interests and talents. To duplicate these opportunities outside of school and work for many parents would be challenging.- Submitted by a parent on September 21, 2007
This our first year at Kachina North and we couldn't be happier! Our son has excelled above and beyond our expectations in his kindergarten class and we believe that his teacher and the school atmosphere play a huge role in that. There is such a positive attitude there and it makes the children excited to learn! -Submitted by a parent on September 20, 2007
This is our first year at Kachina North Campus. We were at another school for three years. The school she went to was a wonderful school. Yet I wanted her to experience a school with smaller classrooms, no more than 20 students. I also like that it goes to 8th grade. I also like the curriculum. In the morning you have all the core curriculum like math, reading, writing, science, history, social studies and geography. Then in the afternoon they rotate classes by going to computers, spanish, P.E., art, music and economics. Which my third grader is very excited about this. All the teachers seem very nice. I know that we really like our teacher, we think she is doing a wonderful job. The principal Mr.Steve is wonderful. Our old principal was more a figure on campus, never felt very approachable. Where as Mr.Steve is the opposite. Great School! -Submitted by a parent on August 27, 2007
My son is in his first year at Kachina North and is in the 8th grade. We have been extremely happy with the school, teachers, and administration. He looks forward to going to school and absolutely loves his teacher. My only regret is that we didn't find this school sooner!-Submitted by a parent on February 14, 2008

This will be our kindergartners first semester at Kachina and we could not be more pleased with Mr.Steve, Ms.Beth, and Mrs.Williamson! We feel that our daughter could not be receiving better care than she is currently. The communication from the teacher and administration is wonderful. My wife and I wish that our work schedules could allow us to be more involved; on the other hand, we are confident in the abilities of the entire Kachina Family. -Submitted by a parent on December 3, 2007
Our daughter has been attending her first year at Kachina Country Day School North for kindergarten. Mrs. Williamson is a wonderful teacher who really cares about the growth and well being of her class. She is very calm and disciplines the children with grace and a relaxed strength that the children listen to. The school is well organized. Ms.Beth is very polite and on top of everything. Mr.Steve, the principal, is a very nice man who the kids look up to and respect. His demeanor is kind but firm. They have a plan for learning that the kids really enjoy. They teach harmony with others and emphasis the fundamental reading and writing skills, not to mention that my 5 year old is also doing math! I would highly recommend this school to anyone and feel fortunate that our daughter attends Kachina Country Day School North! -Submitted by a parent on April 28, 2008.
My son attends the 8th grade since November, 2007. The small class size has really helped him stay focused on all school work. Which, in turn, has made him one of the top students. I personally just love, love this school! Teachers, Ms.Beth, Mr.Steve, Ms.Kline are all number 1! They care about each student and there parents equally. Best school EVER! I recommend this school to anyone I know. I am very happy they decided to add a 9th grade! -Submitted by Proud parent of student attending Kachina Country Day School North, on April 29, 2008

Kachina is an excellent learning enviroment. The entire staff really cares about the students in learning values as well as academics. My children have excelled and are great kids...thanks, Kachina Country Day School!-Submitted by a parent on May 7, 2008
My son spent most of his elementary years at an excellent public school in North Scottsdale, Unfourtnatly my son was the target of bulling. He was devastated, insecure and angry. He was entitled to fresh start. Fortunately, for 8th grade, we found Kachina Country Day School, North Campus and Ms. Kline. Ms. Kline, and Headmaster, Mr. Steve, have created an environment where it is safe for students to be themselves. They gave my son unique opportunities to regain self-confidence and accountability, lost once the bulling began in middle school. As a freshman at an academically demanding school, my son is attempting new challenges (freshman track team?). Thank you Ms. Kline, Mr. Steve and Kachina Country Day School, It is wonderful to have my confident, compassionate son back.

This school has been wonderful for my three kids. My second grader, who came home from public school every day grumpy and sad, has been positively bouncing home so excited to be learning new things. The three kids I have at this school all love the teachers, the principal and even the work they are doing. Two of them have increased their work loads AND their grades. Where they struggle--the teachers are concerned about them and work together to help them through any rough spots. Submitted by a parent October 29, 2008
My second grade little boy has attended KCDS North for a few short months, yet the postive impact it's made on our family and him personally is enormous. My son always attended private schools and for second grade we began interviewing all the schools 8 months in advance in the Scottsdale and Paradise Valley area. When we chose Kachina after having met with the Administration a tremendous weight was lifted fromm my mind because none of the other schools matched our son's needs and our family's needs perfectly, except Kachina. I knew I had made the best decision, and the difference in my son's enthusiasm for attending everyday and his overall happiness between last year and this year is quite noticeable. My family is much happier this year because KCDS' attention to each individual child, it's teachers and culture are outstanding. -Submitted by a parent October 30, 2008
I LOVE this school! My son is in first grade at KCDS North and also attended kendergarten there. Academically, KCDS-North is top-notch. My son is excelling; he left kindergarten being able to read to me cover to cover and I'm constantly amazed at all he's learned in math and computers. He only has 12 other students in his class and gets great one-on-one attention. Plus, the administration is WONDERFUL. KCDS is like a family; nurturing and caring, but firm when they need to be, It's very obvious Mr.Steve (principal), Mrs.Kline (founder), and Miss Beth (Office Manager) truly love and care about the kids, all the staff provide an exceptional learning enviroment. I am so grateful to have found this school. My two younger children will go here too. If Mama Ain't happy, nobody's happy-- but I'm thrilled! -Submitted by a parent October 30, 2008
